Sheran Yeini, who is a product of the club’s Youth Department is set to start his 16th season in Maccabi’s Yellow and Blue, after signing today (Sunday) on a one-year-extension. The 33-year-old captain who won last season his 5th personal championship and 24th in the club’s history, told the club’s official website after securing the new deal:
“Maccabi Tel Aviv is my home – always has been and always will be. I am proud to say that I will be part of the team next year as well. This season is particularly important. After a complex year for the entire Israeli nation, we hope to make our fans happy and give them some moments of joy. We are here for you. I would like to use the opportunity and thank the club representatives and agents for the assistance and support”
Maccabi’s COO, Sharon Tammam, added: “We are delighted our captain will continue for another season at the club. Sheran is an important figure both on and off the pitch. We are proud to continue with a player who began and continues his career at Maccabi, the club he grew up at”.
Yeini, made his senior debut for Maccabi during the 2004/05 season and has only played for one other club when he joined Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem between 2015-2017. Yeini’s 441 appearances in Yellow and Blue over 15 seasons, saw him climb above Avi Cohen to the 5th spot in the club’s all-time appearance record chart.
