The draw saw teams from the top flight enter the competition in the second round and included teams from the national and 1st divisions. The match will be a repeat of the State Cup final of 2015 which Maccabi won 6-2 at Sammy Ofer, the stadium that will host the final this year. Be’ersheva’s coach Yossi Abuksis knocked Maccabi out of the Cup in the Semi Final stage two seasons ago on the way win the Cup – something he did with Be’ersheva last season as well.
