Maccabi Tel Aviv officially opened today the club’s new flagship store at Bloomfield stadium which is the first for an Israeli football club at its’ home ground.
Maccabi’s CEO, Sharon Tammam, together with the first team coaching and playing staff, officially opened the store at a ceremony that included cutting a ribbon and fixing a Mezuzah.
“Today is a very exciting day for us”, Tammam said. “It is a big achievement for Maccabi to open the largest and first ever store at its’ home stadium. This will position us alongside European clubs that have a store at their home stadium. We made a great effort to fill up the store not only with a wide range of products but also with exciting historic moments, championship plates and Cups. A lot of thought was put into everything here in order to give the fans an experience”.
On the Financial Fair Play and preparations for the forthcoming season, Tammam added: “We had a settlement agreement with UEFA, a settlement which is now concluded as Maccabi successfully complied with all the demands. Although we have yet to receive this officially, we are now conducting ourselves like any other club operating under the Financial Fair Play requirements. With regards to the fans’ feelings and the pressure surrounding signing new players, I would like to calm things down and put things in perspective. Maccabi Tel Aviv has a big organization that has been successful for many years, as everyone who is here is experienced and has been here for many years”.
“Goldhar is extremely committed”, Tammam added, “We all understand the situation. Everyone understands the positions we need to strengthen and are committed to the cause, but at the same time we would like to say that we have an excellent squad and great players who joined us in Osama Khalaila and Idan Nachmias. Osama, had a very good start, and I would like to make it clear to all the players in the squad that we believe in them, but we clearly want and need to strengthen, and will do so as well. It is not the first summer that doesn’t begin with a lot of movement but it will end properly. We see, we know and we want to bring in the right players for the right positions, not just to sign players for the sake of signing. It is all known and clear, we need to continue working and we will do it”.
On the work that is being done ahead of the forthcoming season and the targets which have been set: “There are the fans, the management, the professional side, the club conducts itself in an organized manner, so whoever needs to take decisions does so as part of a team effort and in a rational manner. The owners knows where we are and what we need to do. In the forthcoming days we will focus on the match that awaits us in the Conference League and then with the matches that follow. At the end of the day one has to remember that nothing has changed as far as targets as we still want to win titles and qualify for the group stages in Europe. So you should all keep calm as we want to be there and clinch all the titles”.
