If you weren’t a Footballer, what would you be?
“I think that one of the things that turned me into a footballer and a professional who earns a living from this job was that I never thought I will not become a footballer. It was always my target, my biggest dream and never had any other ambition besides that. Today I also think about the future and one of the things I am trying to do these days is to complete my first degree in Business Management. I am in my second year and have one year left. Step by step, I still have time to think”.
Where will we find you on your free time?
“I love to be mostly with my friends. Love to spend time by myself at home, to read a good book, to watch a good series or TV series and spend time in my own comfortable habitat. I have a core of five very good friends that have been together from the age of 12. Each one as from a different field, but we always have fun meeting up together in the evenings. This is the time I am normally free and what I enjoy most on my free time”.
What do you like watching on TV?
“Mostly documentaries or shows that are based on a true story, inspirational. Both on TV and on Netflix.
Who or what makes you laugh?
“My best mate Matan. We spend a lot of time together and no one makes me laugh as much as he does. We love to laugh about situations in life regardless of whether they are good or bad”.
What was the prettiest place you had even been at?
“Venice, Italy. Is the prettiest and most special place I had even been to. The simplicity, the way that people conduct themselves, and the way they deal with the fact there are no roads and travel from one place to another by boat. It is by far the prettiest place I visited”.
What was your first position on the pitch?
“A central defender. From a really young age I have been a center-back. Over the years in the youth team I played as a right-back. When I joined Ashdod on-loan I also played as a central midfielder, a position I have been playing at Maccabi over the past year”.
Who is the best player you played alongside?
“We grew up together from a really young age, both physically and mentally, so I think the best player alongside is Dor Peretz. Amongst all the players and all the teams I played for, he spent the most years with me. U-17’s, U-19’s and the senior side. I saw him his progress and how he developed – both his physical and mental aspects of the game”.
Who is the best player you played against?
“Anthony Nwakaeme. I played against him as a right-back and I also played against him as a midfielder and as a central defender. His physique and athleticism is something I never encountered before. He was the player I struggled most to deal with”.
What was your best game so far?
“My best game was against maccabi Haifa in the Semi Final of the State Cup last season. With the situation we had of so many players missing due to the ‘Guardian of the Walls’ operation, the difficult moments we encountered as players, to train and play at such times, as well as the fact I hadn’t been playing on a regular basis for a month – six weeks. The coach named me in the starting line-up for an extremely important match at Sammy Ofer behind closed doors. I had a great performance, we won 2-0 and reached the Final. It was my best personal game I played or at least as far as I can remember in recent years”.
