As part of the Maccabi Tel Aviv foundation activities, a representation of the first team players, Eden Shamir, Gabi Kanichowsky, Shahar Piven and Idan Nachmias visited kids hospitalised at various wards of the Shamir Medical centre (Assaf Harofeh) ahead of Chanukkah. The players visited the players, had their photos taken with them, and gave them gifts and souvenirs on behalf of the club.
During the visit, Eden Shamir said: “It is a great honour for us to visit kids and make them happy. In general this is something the club is focusing on, and we are delighted to participate in. One tends to come and strengthen the kids at their difficult time, but as it happens it tends to put things in perspective for us”.
The morning after the disappointing 1-1 draw against Nof Hagalil where he made a second half substitute appearance, the 26-year-old midfielder added: “We all left the stadium disappointed. From the first player to the last fan. Everyone at the club is disappointed, we all wanted to win and start a good momentum of good results. It might sound like a cliche but we will have to work hard in order to fix this. We don;t have too many options. On Sunday we already have a tough match against Beitar Jerusalem at Teddy stadium and there is no room from handing out gifts”.
