Josue Humberto Goncalves Leal Sa (187cm) completed his loan deal to to Maccabi Tel Aviv from Bulgarian outfit Ludogorets Razgrad after the central defender successfully completed a medical.
Sa, who will wear the number 32 shirt at Maccabi told the club’s official website: “It is a great honor for me to represent the best club in Israel as I’m extremely excited to join Maccabi Tel Aviv! I have heard amazing things about the club, it’s massive history and the successes in both the local and International competitions. Many thanks to the management and professional staff for fighting over me – now it’s my time to give back. Yalla Maccabi!”.

Josue Sa, joined Ludogorets in 2020 and in 18 months at the club scored 5 goals in 36 appearances in all competitions, was part of the side that won the Bulgarian League title and two campaigns in the Europa League.
He began his playing career at the Youth Academy of Sporting Lisbon before switching to Vitoria Guimaraes where he made his senor debut in 2011. During six seasons he spent at Guimaraes, one of which on loan at Chaves and two at Guimaraes B side, Josue Sa returned to the first team and scored 5 goals in 111 appearances.
Josue Sa, represented the young Portugal national sides at U18, U19, U20 and U21 levels making a total of 28 international appearances between 2010-2013.
In 2017 Sa joined Belgian club Anderlecht and played 22 matches before spending the following two seasons on loan at Turkish side Kasimpasa (2018/19) and Huesca (2019/20) which he helped to finish top of the Spanish second division and promotion to La Liga with 1 goal in 27 appearances.
