Matan Hozez insisted that the 1-0 defeat to Hapoel Be’ersheva at Turner in the Playoffs should not have an effect on Wednesday’s State Cup Semi Final. The 25-year-old tried explaining Maccabi’s current dip in form : “We reached the Playoffs in good form but over the past few games there are things that don’t work as we are all unhappy with the situation. Obviously we will learn from the mistakes we did and come hungry with plenty of passion to win and do what we are used to do”.

“We lacked energy. We didn’t give enough” explained Eden Shamir. “We don’t have too much time to sulk but clean this game and prepare for Wednesday. We wanted to arrive at Wednesday’s game on the back of a victory and a good performance but sadly that hasn’t happened. I am sure that on Wedenesday we will look totally different and it will be for all to see”.
