After the game which saw Maccabi drop points for the first time this season Zahavi, who could have broken the deadlock but slipped and sent his spot-kick over the crossbar, admitted after the match: “I slipped before the penalty which was unlucky”, Zahavi said. “If I would have scored the penalty it would have looked totally different for us, maybe it would have been an easier game. It is a pity, we dropped two important points in the rave but we still have a long season ahead and we will keep on doing everything to get the result we want”.

On the difficult match against a tough opponent, Zahavi added: “It was very difficult to play against a side that defends so deep with so many players inside their own half. I think we created a lot of chances. We had shots on goal and had we been accurate on the final delivery we could have scored. But today it didn’t happen and we will look forward. We found solutions in the past against similar opponents but today it just didn’t happen. I take responsibility for missing the penalty but we will take the positives from this match eventhough it is only one point”.
