The 2022/23 Playoff got underway on Saturday with a 2-0 victory at home against Maccabi Netanya but in addition to the three points gained, Avi Rikan celebrated 300 appearances in Maccabi’s Yellow and Blue.
Rikan, who joined Maccabi in the summer of the 2015/16 was introduced midway through the second half to make his 300th Maccabi appearance in all competitions. The 34-year-old midfielder who scored 42 goals 31 of which in the league, moved above Gal Alberman and Yaron Oz to capture the 21st spot in the club’s all time appearance record. Rikan has a chance to climb one position higher this season into the top 20, as he is only three appearances behind Giora Spiegel (302).
