Maccabi hosts Ashdod at Bloomfield stadium for the fifth match in the Playoffs which will conclude the first round. Three days after the dramatic victory over Hapoel Be’ersheva at Turner stadium, Dan Glazer faced the media at the pre-match press conference on Thursday and shared some of the feelings in the camp. “It always feels good to win at Be’ersheva especially as we hadn’t won there for such a long period. We are delighted with the victory and hope to continue in our run of good form.”

Maccabi remain unbeaten in the Playoffs and showing signs of improvement since the regular season, as Glazer tried explaining: “We have a new coaching staff since January and it is a natural thing for him to get to know us and for us to get to know him a 100%. From the moment the Playoff began we are playing good football and working on what needs improving. Our coach gives us plenty of confidence while we are delighted to be playing better and collecting more points.”

On the fact Maccabi has seemingly slipped out of the title race, Glazer added: “In terms of points – this season is so far a miss. We needed to take more points and slipped at places we shouldn’t have but I think that even in the matches we dropped points we still played good football. We did have a spell where pour football wasn’t great, but now that we have confidence one can see the improvement. I hope we end the season on a high because we have targets both in the league and in the cup”.

On a personal note, Glazer, who has also enjoyed good form lately, summed up: “I think every athlete has better spells and periods where he is not at his best. I had some amazing moments at this club and also had lesser moments. Fans have the right to voice their opinion and protest and 95% percent of the fans show their support and as for the rest I am sure they will be the first ones to turn and show their support at times of success”.
