Maccabi Tel Aviv were held to a dramatic late 1-1 draw by Maccabi Haifa at Bloomfield on Tuesday. Goalkeeper Daniel Peretz faced the media at the end of the match which began so promisingly but ended in a disappointing manner, and said: “It is a massive miss because we reached so many chances, moved the ball around very well and it is a shame we lacked the finishing touch in front of goal. We also had a few good chances in the second half as well.”

On the team’s recent improving form under Aitor Karanka, the 22-year-old keeper, added: “It is just legitimate when a new coach comes in and things take a little time to connect. We have been working together for 3 months and it makes perfect sense that we look better and better the more time we spend together connecting to these ideas. This game is already in the past and we already set our sights on Monday’s match. We are expecting a tough match away to Hapoel Be’ersheva and we both really want and need to win this match.”
