Roi Mishpati became Maccabi’s first signing of the 2023/24 season after the 30-year-old keeper signed a 2-year-deal with an option to extend by a further season.
Mishpati (192cm), who will wear the number 90 shirt told the club’s official website: “This is a great moment for me in my career and I am absolutely delighted to be joining a club of Maccabi’s stature. I was raised in Rishon Lezion and most of the city supports so I know exactly how big this club is and of the incredible support that it enjoys, and I can’t wait to play in front of the fans at Bloomfield.”
A product of Hapoel Rishon Lezion’s youth academy, Mishpati, joined Ashdod SC in 2011 before making his senior league debut against Maccabi Netanya in November that year. He played a key role in Ashdod’s promotion back to the top flight in the 2015/16 season, and gained further experience during a one season long loan spell during the 2017/18 season at Rishon Lezion where he made 41 appearance for the second division outfit . In nine seasons at Ashdod, Mishpati made a total of 105 appearances in all competitions before securing a move to Maccabi Haifa at the start of the 2021/22 season. In two seasons at Haifa, Mishpati made 23 appearances.
