Gabi Kanichowsky said ahead of the game in Celje: “We are feeling good. We played a league match and got a good result at home but the tie against the Slovenians is far from over. We need to continue with our journey, everyone is prepared and we are not taking this match lightly. We would like to continue the positive momentum we created recently and we are all looking forward to do so”

The team arrived this morning at Ben Gurion Airport, will fly to Ljubljana and continue by bus to Celje where they will hold their final practice this evening and play tomorrow’s return leg at the Zdezle stadium (Thursday, 21:00).

Eran Zahavi’s hatrick together with Dor Turgeman’s late strike, placed Maccabi in the driving seat to secure a place in the Conference League group stage for the second time in the club’s history.
