The day after beating Hapoel Hadera in the State Cup Round of 32, Maccabi learned the identity of the opponents in the next round following the draw which took place at Umm al-Fahm.
Maccabi were first to be drawn by the Umm al-Fahm’s coach and son of the former late Maccabi coach Dror Kashtan. Second division side Maccabi Jaffa that played Maccabi in the Quarter Final stage of the 2021/22 season will face Robbie Keane’s charges next month.
Last time round, Maccabi beat Jaffa 6-0 on aggregate (4-0 and 2-0) over a two-legged tie. Jaffa, that beat Ahi Nazareth 3-1 in the previous round, are currently 4th in the second division with 18 points having won 9 drawn 6 and lost 3.
The round of 16 matches will be played on February 27th – 29th (final dates TBA).
