Nir Bitton will remain a Maccabi Tel Aviv for a third season after the 32-year-old defender signed a new one-year-deal with an option to extend by a further season.

Bitton, who made 19 appearances in all competitions last season and a total of 48 since joining Maccabi in the summer of 2022 – signed a contract until the end of the 2024/25 season with an option to extend.

Bitton, who has been recovering from a knee injury which sidelined him since December last year, told the Club’s official website: “After a challenging period I would like to thank the Club for supporting me during all this time and the medical and physical staff for everything they did during my rehabilitation. I can’t wait to return and work hard in training with my teammates so that I could return to do what I missed so much – playing in front of the fans at Bloomfield.”
