Issouf Sissokho joined Maccabi from French club Girondins de Bordeaux after the Mali international midfielder completed a medical at the club and signed a three-year deal with an option to extend by a further season.
Sissokho, (22), who will wear the number 28 jersey at Maccabi told the Club’s official website: “I am happy to sign for Maccabi Tel Aviv a club that has done so much to get me here. Looking forward to work as hard as I can to help the team challenge for titles and advance as far as possible in European competitions.”
After joining Bordeaux at the age of 18, Sissokho, made his senior debut in 2021 against Metz and a total of 65 appearances for the French club.
Sissokho represented Mali’s young national sides at U-20 and U-23 levels including 1 appearance against Japan at the Olympic Games in Paris 2024.
